Welcome to Black Oak Tennis!
We are happy to offer Private Lessons and Tennis Camp for kids and adults this summer.
Private Lessons for Beginners/Advance Beginners — $25 per hour with Coach Luke, CHS’23. He played tennis for Centerville and is a USTA-trained coach. Luke makes learning tennis fun!
Tennis Camp is based on the USTA’s best training practices with an added twist of FUN!
In addition to traditional drills, kids play camp games to build their tennis skills.
- “Home Run Derby” works on hitting power.
- “Tennis Lingo Bingo” teaches tennis terms.
- “Relay Races” increases speed and endurance.
- “Ice Cream Scoops” teaches forehand.
- “Target Practice” works on accuracy.
- “Hot Lava” improves footwork.
- “Water-Balloonpolooza” improves the serve toss and helps campers cool down on a hot summer day.
Plus a few more games that we will keep as a surprise!
Tennis Campis ideal for beginners to advanced beginners. (ages 6 to 12)
Each day has a fun theme like “Christmas in July” where kids play tennis with snowballs and receive a small wrapped gift. Sometimes we break into small groups based on skill level. Every camper gets 1 on 1 coaching. We teach proper technique so players develop the correct form from the start. Teamwork, resilience building, physical fitness, and good sportsmanship are woven into the week. Of course, camp must have crafts and music! Tennis Camp is a great way to meet new friends at the club!

Time: 9:30 – 11:30 a.m.
*July 12 and 19 will be 10:30-12:30p.m.*
